India, April 28 -- Sonam Raghuvanshi, the main accused in the murder of her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, during their honeymoon in Meghalaya, has been granted bail by a court in Shillong after three previous pleas were rejected, media reports said.
She has spent 10 months in jail.
Her father and cousin have reached Shillong to submit surety bonds, and her release is expected soon.
Murder during honeymoon shocked the nation
The case dates back to May 2025, when Raja and Sonam went missing during a honeymoon trip to Sohra in East Khasi Hills.
Days later, Raja's body was found in a deep gorge near a waterfall, triggering a major search and murder investigation.
