India, July 7 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced that, along with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, he would be launching a conservation project for the 1,000-year-old Prambanan Temple in Yogyakarta.

Speaking in a joint statement after his meeting with the President, Modi said: " I will have the privilege of joining President Prabowo in Yogyakarta to launch the conservation project for the Prambanan Temple."

He further said: "More than a thousand years old, the Prambanan Temple stands as a timeless symbol of the shared cultural heritage of India and Indonesia."

As per UNESCO website, built in the 10th century, this is the largest temple compound dedicated to Shiva in Indonesia.
