India, Feb. 28 -- US President Donald Trump has praised his relationship with Pakistan and commended the country's leadership amid escalating tensions between Islamabad and Kabul.
When asked by reporters whether he would intervene to stop the conflict, Trump said he would be willing to step in if necessary. "I would (intervene). But I get along with Pakistan very well," he was quoted as saying.
"They have a great Prime Minister, a great general. They have a great leader - two of the people that I really respect a lot. Pakistan is doing terrifically well," he said.
Meanwhile, US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker extended support to Pakistan following recent developments.
