India, May 8 -- Tech major Google has announced that it is rebranding and upgrading its Fitbit app into the new Google Health app, aimed at becoming a centralised hub for users' health and wellness data.

"This new era debuts a comprehensive, redesigned wellness destination that brings together the best of Fitbit's pioneering spirit with the helpfulness of Google," the company said in a blog post.
