Mumbai/IBNS, May 16 -- Gig workers across India are observing a five-hour nationwide strike on Saturday protesting against soaring fuel prices, stagnant wages and lack of social security benefits, media reports said.

The strike was called by the Gig and Platform Services Workers Union (GIPSWU), which appealed to app-based drivers and delivery workers to temporarily shut down services between 12 noon and 5 pm.
