Chennai, Oct. 15 -- Taiwanese electronics manufacturing giant Foxconn has contradicted the Tamil Nadu government's claim of committing an additional Rs 15,000 crore investment in the state, media reports said.
The clarification came on Tuesday, after the Tamil Nadu government confirmed on Monday that the tech giant will invest Rs 15,000 crore in the southern Indian state, expecting to generate 14,000 jobs.
Tamil Nadu Industries Minister TRB Rajaa had claimed on X that Foxconn has committed an investment of Rs 15,000 crore, which would generate 4,000 high-value jobs.
After the meeting, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin thanked the company for "choosing Tamil Nadu" and contributing to the state's bright future in a post on X.
