First in US since World War II: Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan to face firing squad
India, Oct. 6 -- The former U.S. Army major convicted of killing 13 people at Fort Hood, Texas, in 2009 will be executed by firing squad, marking the first such execution in the United States since World War II, according to reports.
The Defense Department's chief spokesperson, Sean Parnell, confirmed the development on social media.
Parnell said the execution of Nidal Malik Hasan by a U.S. Army firing squad was recommended by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and approved by President Donald Trump.
