India, Oct. 22 -- At least three people were arrested for allegedly assaulting a female doctor and threatening her with rape at a state-run hospital in West Bengal's Uluberia area, media reports said.

The incident came to light just a year after a female doctor was raped and murdered at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, an episode that triggered widespread protests in 2024.

In Uluberia, the incident occurred at Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay Government Medical College and Hospital on Monday.

According to reports, one of the arrested persons is a police home guard.

An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
