Mumbai/IBNS, Sept. 8 -- Two men were detained in Mumbai after one allegedly posed as a Prime Minister's Office (PMO) official and entered a high-security area with a forged identity card, hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi was due to attend an event in the city.

The incident took place near the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), close to the Jio World Centre where Modi was scheduled to inaugurate the Global Fintech Fest 2026.

Police identified the alleged fake PMO official as Rohan Parekh.

A gun was reportedly recovered from the man accompanying him, who was allegedly presented as his bodyguard.
