India, May 10 -- Consuming eggs regularly may significantly reduce the risk of being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in adults aged 65 and older, according to new research from Loma Linda University Health.

Researchers found that eating one egg per day for at least five days a week was associated with up to a 27% lower risk of Alzheimer's disease.

"Compared to never eating eggs, eating at least five eggs per week can decrease the risk of Alzheimer's," said Joan Sabate, professor at the Loma Linda University School of Public Health and the study's principal investigator.
