New Delhi/IBNS, Oct. 29 -- In a landmark moment for India's defence and aviation history, President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday flew the Rafale fighter jet from Haryana's Ambala Air Force Base.

The Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Murmu's flight lasted around 30 minutes, reaching high altitudes and manoeuvres that showcased the aircraft's combat capabilities.

She was briefed by senior Indian Air Force officers before takeoff and expressed admiration for the professionalism and courage of IAF personnel.

Calling the experience "thrilling and unforgettable", President Murmu said the sortie deepened her respect for India's defence forces and their commitment to safeguarding the nation.
