India, Aug. 20 -- The man, who attacked Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, is a dog lover and targeted her over the Supreme Court's recent ruling to remove stray dogs to shelters.
The man has been identified as Rajesh Sakriya.
He is originally from Rajkot city in Gujarat.
Rekha Gupta was on Wednesday assaulted by a man during a public meet at her residence in Civil Lines here, media reports said.
Gupta was "slapped" and "pulled by hair" at the 'Jan Sunwai' programme, eyewitnesses said.
The doctors have attended the Chief Minister who is now doing well.
The attacker was arrested immediately after he atacked the CM.
