India, Sept. 6 -- At least one person was killed and two others remained in critical condition after a multi-storey building collapsed in Delhi's Satya Niketan area on Sunday, triggering a major rescue operation amid fears that several people may be trapped under the debris.

Four people rescued from the collapsed building site were taken to the Jai Prakash Narayan Apex Trauma Centre (JPNATC) at AIIMS for treatment, officials told The Indian Express.

Of the four, one was a rescuer who was treated and discharged, two remained in critical condition, while one was brought dead, the newspaper reported.

Sources told The Indian Express that the building housed a hostel named 'Hostel Daze' and was owned by Azad Bansal.
