India, Aug. 9 -- Thousands of fans of Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo gathered outside a cathedral in Madeira after mistakenly believing that the football star was getting married, turning an unsuspecting couple's wedding into a bizarre scene of chaos.

Hundreds of fans reportedly gathered outside Funchal Cathedral amid rumours that Ronaldo was set to marry his longtime partner, Georgina Rodriguez.

However, the wedding taking place at the cathedral had nothing to do with the football superstar. The unexpected crowd reportedly left the bride, groom and their wedding party stunned.
