Ottawa, May 27 -- Canada will temporarily suspend immigration documents and impose quarantine requirements for travellers linked to countries facing high Ebola risks, the government said on Tuesday.

The measures, announced by the Public Health Agency of Canada, are aimed at reducing the risk of Ebola entering and spreading within Canada.

The government also plans to temporarily pause processing applications for such immigration documents from residents of those countries.

Travellers showing symptoms will be isolated in hospital for further assessment, the government said.
