Ottawa, March 27 -- Canada has reached NATO's 2% defence spending target and will invest more than $3 billion in military infrastructure across Atlantic Canada.
Accordfing to a statement, the spending includes upgrades to naval and air force bases in Nova Scotia and training facilities in New Brunswick, part of a broader push to strengthen the Canadian Armed Forces amid rising global security concerns.
In Nova Scotia, funding will go toward modernising infrastructure at Canadian Forces Base Halifax, building aviation support facilities at 14 Wing Greenwood, and expanding naval training capacity.
Additional investments include housing for military personnel and acquisition of a waterfront site to support naval operations.
