Lucknow/IBNS, Dec. 18 -- A chilling crime has come to light in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district, where a man is accused of killing his wife and two young daughters and burying their bodies inside his own house.

Police say the murders were allegedly triggered by a dispute over the woman not wearing a burqa, a claim that has sent shockwaves through the region.

The accused, identified as Farooq, was taken into custody after his family members were reported missing for nearly a week.

His wife, Tahira, 35, and daughters Shareen, 14, and Afreen, 6, had not been seen in the village, raising suspicion among locals.
