Kolkata/IBNS, May 4 -- In a potentially historic shift in West Bengal politics, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is on course to form its maiden government in the state, with current trends indicating a decisive lead over the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC).

According to latest trends, the BJP is leading in over 190 seats, while Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's TMC is trailing below the 100 mark.
