Patna/IBNS, Nov. 14 -- Janata Dal (United) candidate Anant Kumar Singh has taken a strong lead over the Mahagathbandhan in the Mokama assembly constituency in the early trends of Bihar poll results.
Singh has extended his lead by over 26,000 after the seventh round of vote counting.
RJD candidate Veena Devi is far behind with 15,174 votes.
Nitish Kumar's JD(U) posted a remarkable upswing, emerging as the single-largest party in the first several rounds of counting.
The party was leading in a majority of the seats it contested, while ally BJP also secured strong leads across multiple constituencies - positioning the NDA firmly ahead of the opposition.
