India, May 9 -- India on Friday successfully conducted the flight trial of an advanced Agni missile equipped with a Multiple Independently Targeted Re-Entry Vehicle (MIRV) system from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha.
The missile was tested with multiple payloads aimed at different targets spatially distributed across a vast geographical area in the Indian Ocean Region.
Flight data confirmed that all mission objectives were successfully achieved during the trial.
With this successful test, India has once again demonstrated its capability to engage multiple strategic targets using a single missile system, significantly enhancing its strategic deterrence capabilities.
