Gandhinagar/IBNS, Oct. 17 -- Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has got a new council of ministers as a major cabinet reshuffle took place on Friday.

All Gujarat ministers except CM Patel on Thursday resigned for the reshuffle, which is viewed as a strategic reset ahead of the local body polls and next assembly elections in 2027.

All 25 ministers were sworn in by Governor Acharya Devvrat.

The new council of ministers included six outgoing ministers and 19 new faces.

State Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi has been appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister.

BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda was present at the swearing-in ceremony.

Bhupendra Patel, who succeeded late Vijay Rupani, took oath as the CM on September 13, 2021.
