Bengaluru/IBNS, Oct. 17 -- An engineering student has been allegedly raped by her college mate inside a men's washroom on the campus of a private institution in Bengaluru, media reports said.

He has been remanded to judicial custody since then, police said.

The alleged incident occurred on October 10 when Gowda took the survivor to the washroom and raped her.

The two were previously classmates until Gowda lagged behind due to academic backlog.

On the day of the alleged incident, Gowda had called the survivor during lunch break and asked her to meet him near the architecture block on the seventh floor.
