Bengal STF arrests JeM suspect from Burdwan; probe underway into 'plot' targeting CM Suvendu Adhikari
Kolkata/IBNS, July 31 -- The West Bengal Police Special Task Force (STF) has arrested a suspected operative of Pakistan-based banned terror organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in Purba Bardhaman, with investigators examining his alleged links to a wider terror network and whether information collected about Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari was connected to a possible attack plot.
The suspect, identified as Hamid Mondal, was arrested from his rented accommodation in a housing complex in Burdwan town late on Thursday, according to police sources.
Investigators are now analysing digital material and documents recovered from him.
