India, May 22 -- A bizarre incident has triggered widespread concern on social media after a plate of bhel puri was allegedly served wrapped in pages of a bank statement, raising serious questions about hygiene and data privacy.

The image, which went viral on X, was shared by user Sudhanshu Ambhore, who claimed that the snack purchased from a street vendor was wrapped in a two-page statement from the Union Bank of India, with visible personal and financial details.

"Bought a Rs.20 bhel from a street vendor and it was wrapped in someone's 2-page bank statement. Name, account number, transactions. everything just out there like it's normal," the post read, adding that privacy concerns in India were being treated casually.
