India, Sept. 27 -- The body of a Hindu jeweller was recovered from a floating plastic drum near a sluice gate in Bangladesh's Mymensingh district on Friday, with police suspecting that he was killed before his body was dumped in the water.

The victim was identified as 50-year-old Niranjan Chandra Sutradhar, who jointly owned a jewellery shop in the Atharbari Building area of Mymensingh.

His wife and son identified the body on Thursday. Police have yet to identify those allegedly responsible for his death, and no case had been filed in connection with the incident as of Thursday.
