Mumbai/IBNS, July 16 -- Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk's hunger strike demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan received fresh support on Thursday, with actor Atul Kulkarni observing a one-day symbolic fast from his home.

Kulkarni announced his protest through a video message on social media, urging the Central government to initiate dialogue with the protesters, who have been staging a sit-in at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi for over 20 days.

"However, I feel there must be some misunderstanding due to which the government's sensitivity is not being reflected in this matter."
