Arrested JeM suspect planned Jantar Mantar attack in police uniform during CJP protests: Bengal STF
Kolkata/IBNS, Aug. 1 -- The West Bengal Police's Special Task Force (STF) has claimed that a suspected operative linked to the Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) was allegedly planning a sabotage operation at New Delhi's Jantar Mantar while disguised in a police uniform during the recent Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)-led students' protest.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday, STF Inspector General Gaurav Sharma said investigators had recovered "explosive" digital evidence from the mobile phone, electronic devices and encrypted social media chats of 24-year-old Hamim Mondal, who was arrested from Purba Bardhaman district on Friday.
