India, Sept. 18 -- Actor Alia Bhatt on Thursday wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 76th birthday and announced that she and her husband, actor Ranbir Kapoor, will support the Seva Sankalp Abhiyaan by pledging to refurbish 20 schools.

In a post on social media, Alia extended her birthday wishes to the Prime Minister and said the initiative reflected the idea of collective action and giving back.

She said the schools would be refurbished based on recommendations from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

The announcement came as several Bollywood personalities also posted birthday messages for Modi.
