India, Oct. 15 -- Air France has barred Pakistani pilots and cabin crew from operating flights to and from Israel, following stricter enforcement of Israeli restrictions on airline personnel from countries that do not maintain diplomatic relations with the Jewish state, media reports said.

US-based United Airlines has also informed its pilots and cabin crew about the nationality-based restrictions, raising questions about the impact on international aviation and whether more carriers will adopt similar measures.

The co-pilot was accused of attempting to seize control of the aircraft and crash it into Israel's Ben Gurion Airport.
