India, July 7 -- Your job is no longer safe in the age of AI. The warning is growing louder across the tech industry as artificial intelligence reshapes the global workforce. In recent years, rapid advances in AI have coincided with waves of layoffs, leaving a lasting impact on employees.

The effect is already visible in the US labour market. During the first few months of 2026, the technology and finance sectors shed an average of 28,000 jobs every month, even as overall employment continued to grow.
