India, March 10 -- India head coach Gautam Gambhir has said the blueprint for ICC Cricket World Cup 2027 will be ready by the end of Indian Premier League 2026.

The 2027 edition of the marquee 50-over tournament will be jointly hosted by South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe.

"The planning for the 2027 World Cup will start after the IPL. There are around 25 to 30 ODIs between IPL 2026 and the World Cup. This format isn't played much these days. The earlier we begin planning, the better it will be for us," Gambhir told India Today.

He also stressed the challenges of playing in South African conditions.
