India, June 24 -- At least five people were killed and several others remained trapped after an under-construction warehouse collapsed in Kolkata's Taratala area on Wednesday afternoon, prompting a massive rescue operation involving the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Kolkata Police, and the Indian Army.

According to officials, dozens of workers were present at the site when the structure gave way.

Rescue teams have so far pulled out several workers from the debris, while efforts continue to reach those still trapped beneath the collapsed concrete and steel framework.
