21,000 jobs gone, more cuts coming? Oracle prepares fresh layoff round: Reports
India, Aug. 12 -- Oracle is planning another round of layoffs after eliminating around 21,000 jobs in fiscal 2026, media reports said, as the technology giant looks to reduce payroll costs while taking on billions of dollars in debt to finance its artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure expansion.
The earlier round of layoffs represented roughly 13% of Oracle's workforce.
Oracle has drawn up plans for another round of job cuts as it seeks to control costs amid its growing debt burden, according to people familiar with the plans and an internal document reviewed by Business Insider.
The cuts could reach double-digit percentages in some teams, according to the document.
