India, Sept. 23 -- The Ministry of Civil Aviation on Tuesday signed 21 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with States and Union Territories under the next phase of the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme, marking a major step towards strengthening regional air connectivity across the country.

The MoUs are aimed at strengthening Centre-State and Centre-UT cooperation for the development of aviation infrastructure and expansion of air connectivity to underserved and unserved regions, the ministry said in a statement.
