India, Jan. 22 -- At least 10 Indian Army personnel were killed and 10 others injured on Thursday after their vehicle skidded off a mountainous road and plunged into a deep gorge in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district, officials said.
The accident occurred near Khanni top on the Bhaderwah-Chamba interstate road when a bulletproof Casspir vehicle, carrying troops for an operational deployment, lost control while navigating treacherous terrain amid adverse weather conditions.
Confirming the incident, the Army's White Knight Corps said there were multiple casualties and that the injured soldiers had been evacuated for medical treatment. Ten of the injured were airlifted to hospitals, officials added.
