New Delhi/IBNS, July 21 -- The Delhi High Court on Tuesday allowed activist Sonam Wangchuk to be shifted from the state-run Safdarjung Hospital to a private medical facility, days after he was forcibly removed from Jantar Mantar by police and admitted to the government hospital, according to media reports.

The court approved Wangchuk's transfer to Medanta Hospital, observing that his concerns regarding his medical treatment could not be ignored.

The decision comes amid concerns over Wangchuk's health as he continues his indefinite hunger strike.

Following the court's order, Wangchuk's wife, Gitanjali J. Angmo, thanked the Delhi High Court and the legal team representing the activist.
