Guwahati/IBNS, April 30 -- Pawan Khera, who has sought anticipatory bail over his remarks on Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's wife, on Thursday told the Supreme Court of India that it was "not necessary to humiliate me with arrest," media reports said.
Khera argued that if his anticipatory bail plea is rejected, the very purpose of pre-arrest protection would be defeated.
Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, appearing for Khera, launched a strong attack on Sarma, calling him a "Constitutional cowboy or a Constitutional Rambo".
The case stems from an April 4 press conference where Khera made allegations against Sarma and his wife Riniki Bhuyan Sharma.
