India, July 18 -- Former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday urged countrymen to join the ongoing protest in Delhi's Jantar Mantar, hours after climate activist Sonam Wangchuk was removed by police on the 21st day of his fast.

Kejriwal, who recently met Wangchuk at the protest venue, wrote on X: "Today, Sonam Wangchuk, Abhijit Dipke, and all these young people are fighting for the future of your children."

He further said: "Sitting at home won't work anymore. Now everyone must unite and take to the streets. Only then will something change in this country."

He asked people to reach Jantar Mantar, the epicentre of the protest in the city.
