India, March 9 -- Ride hailing major Uber has partnered with ixigo's bus business AbhiBus to launch intercity bus ticketing services in India, marking its first global market for this service. 

In a statement, ixigo said that AbhiBus' end-to-end booking technology and deep operator integrations will allow Uber users to discover and compare bus options, check real-time seat availability and select preferred seats directly within the app. 

Users can also filter by bus types such as AC, Sleeper, Seater, Volvo and Scania, view 360deg bus photos on select routes, track live bus status, opt for Abhi Assured with defined compensation benefits in case of service disruptions, and access 24x7 customer support.
