Starlink Reapplies For IN-SPACe Nod For 30,000-Satellite Gen 2 Network: Report
India, Aug. 20 -- Elon Musk-led Starlink has reapplied to India's space regulator for authorisation of its second-generation satellite constellation, which will include direct-to-device (D2D) connectivity capabilities.
The SpaceX-operated satellite internet company has sought approval from the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) for a constellation comprising nearly 30,000 low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites, the Economic Times reported, citing sources.
The proposed satellites will operate at altitudes ranging from 340 kilometres to 615 kilometres.
