India, Oct. 26 -- Social gaming platform Matiks has raised $10 Mn (Rs.95.1 Cr) in its Pre-Series A funding round led by General Catalyst.

The round also saw participation from upGrad founder Ronnie Screwvala as well as existing backers such as Info Edge Ventures, Tanglin Venture Partners and Untitled Ventures.

In a statement, the startup said that it plans to utilise the fresh capital to expand its global footprint and invest in new games and social experiences. The fresh funding will also be used to deepen investments in engineering, AI, product, design and growth.
