PURNEA, Sept. 2 -- A- 35-year-old woman died and a teenage girl went missing after a boat capsized in Tilave river in the Simri Bakhtiyarpur block of Bihar's Saharsa on Tuesday evening, police said, adding that the search operation is underway. Station house officer (SHO) of Bakhtiyarpur police station Jaishankar Kumar while confirming the incident said, "The dead body was sent to Sadar hospital for postmortem and a search operation is underway for the missing girl." According to a report, the boat carrying 15 people, mostly women and children, was returning after collecting the odder for cattle when a sudden violent gust of wind hit the boat and it capsized in the Tilawe river losing balance. The incident took place at Tariyama Panchayat under Simri Bakhtiyarpur block of the district at around 6 pm. "Most of them managed to swim safely but a woman identified as Rupam Devi died and her body was later recovered whereas a 14- year-old girl Neha Kumari went missing.
