Viksit Bharat not a dream, but reality by 2047, says VP Radhakrishnan at MGCU convocation
MOTIHARI, April 5 -- Delivering the keynote address at the third convocation of Mahatma Gandhi Central University (MGCU) in Motihari on Saturday, Vice President CP Radhakrishnan described 'Viksit Bharat' as a goal rather than just a dream and urged students to continue learning and keep pace with emerging technologies to transform the vision of a Developed India into reality by 2047.
Addressing a gathering on the third convocation of Mahatma Gandhi Central University (MGCU) comprising mostly students and educational experts at Bapu auditorium at Motihari, headquarters of East Champaran district of Bihar, the vice president emphasised the importance of continuous learning and urged the graduating students to stay curious, adaptable and aligned with rapidly evolving technologies.
"When we observe the world today, we notice a period of uncertainty in many regions. Yet India stands out as one of the most stable nation in the world. The stability is due to the policies of our visionary PM Narendra Modi over the last decade. He has enabled India to become 4th largest economy of the world globally. Nobody believed that India is going to the fourth economy. This happened. And soon I am confident we are going to become the third economy. Our Vikisit Bharat dream wil not a dream but a reality by 2047. Your contribution is going to make it a reality," said the vice president.
He said innovation, skill development, and a strong knowledge foundation would play crucial roles in turning the vision into reality by 2047.
Radhakrishnan emphasized that convocation marks the beginning of a lifelong journey of learning, not its end. He asserted that change is the only constant
in a rapidly evolving world and adapting to new technologies is essential for progress, as outdated systems lose relevance with the passage of time.
"You must realise that your convocation here is a life long journey of knowledge. It's not an end but another beginning. You are living in a world where technologies are fast changing... There is only one thing constant in the world is a change. No manufacturers today bother to manufacture typewriters as it has outlived its utility... In the rapidly changing world the adoption of new technology would be the key enabler of progress," the VP said....
