Unidentified woman's body found near river
ARA, July 7 -- The body of an unidentified 40-year-old woman was found half-naked near a culvert between Babhangawan and Englishpur villages in Barhara police station area of the district on Monday, police said.
The skin on both legs was removed, a scratch-like wound was found on her left hand and a black bruise was found on her face, police added.
Police also recovered a hammer from the scene. They suspect that someone murdered the woman and then disposed of her body to conceal evidence. An FSL team has been deployed at the scene to collect evidence.
The police subsequently sent the body to Ara sadar Hospital for a post-mortem. However, due to decomposition and insect infestation, the on-duty doctor referred the body to Patna.
According to the inquest report prepared by the police, the cause of death of the woman is unclear. Efforts are being made to identify her and probe is underway, an officer said....
