Two FIRs in Tre-4 protest against 70 named and 1k unknown people
PATNA, Aug. 27 -- Police on Wednesday registered two FIR cases against 70 named persons and 1000 unknown persons in connection with the disturbance and violence that took place during a protest of TRE-4 by student organisations and the Kisan Morcha in the state capital.
Law and Order ASP Krishna Murari Prasad said, "Two separate FIRs have been filed at the Kotwali police station regarding breaking of barricades and attacks by anti-social elements in the crowd. Police named 70 persons as accused, while over 1,000 unidentified protesters have also been named in the FIRs. Seventy people were detained but were later released."
The DSP said that these cases alleged rioting, obstruction of government work, and disruption of law and order. Police are now identifying unidentified accused persons. Some protesters also broke barricades.
Police said that it is alleged that some anti-social elements in the crowd challenged police and administration and attacked them. Protestors also gathered in restricted areas and disrupted traffic on several major roads for hours, causing significant inconvenience to public and essential services, including ambulances....
