Two dancers gangraped in patna, F.I.R. filed against 13: Cops
PATNA, June 21 -- Two members of a music and dance troupe from Jharkhand were allegedly kidnapped after their show and gang-raped at gunpoint by about a dozen people at Naubatpur, police said on Saturday.
Following the incident, a First Information Report (FIR) was lodged at Naubatpur Police Station against 13 people under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police have launched an investigation and initiated a search operation to apprehend the accused. Both women have been sent for medical examination. The victims are originally from Jharkhand's Latehar district and were residing in a rented house in the Mithapur area of Patna at the time of the incident.
As per the FIR, the incident occurred on June 18. The victims were invited to perform at a Tilak ceremony in a locality of Naubatpur. The event was booked by a youth named Munna Kumar from Bhelura Rampur. It is alleged that instead of taking them to the venue, some youths forcibly took them to an isolated place. After this, the two sisters were taken hostage to different places and gang-raped throughout the night. When they resisted, they were beaten up and threatened with dire consequences. The next morning, the accused tried to drop them somewhere but when their vehicle reached the jurisdiction of Phulwari Sharif Police Station, the victims started crying. Local people and passers-by gathered and informed Dial-112 which reached the spot and took them to Phulwari Sharif police station. The police registered a 'Zero' FIR and referred it to Naubatpur police station for further action.
Phulwari Sharif SDPO-2 Deepak Kumar confirmed the incident and said that an FIR has been lodged against 13 people, including Munna Kumar, Suraj Kumar and Bhanu Kumar....
