RANCHI, Oct. 23 -- The ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) in Jharkhand has fielded over two dozen leaders in the campaign for the Ghatshila bypoll, each tasked with micro-managing the campaign and outreach programmes in different pockets of the constituency, party insiders said on Wednesday. Insiders said the list of leaders assigned responsibilities includes incumbent and former ministers, elected representatives, and senior party office-bearers. "The list includes ministers such as Deepak Birua, Sudivya Kumar, Yogendra Prasad, and Hafizul Hasan. Besides the MLAs from the Kolhan region, senior MLAs Hemlal Murmu and Luis Marandi have also been given responsibilities. Some senior leaders, like former minister Mithilesh Thakur, Supriyo Bhattacharya, and Vinod Pandey are also on the list and are either camping in the constituency or will start doing so soon after Diwali and Chhath Puja. Transport minister Deepak Birua is effectively in charge of the campaign," a senior JMM leader said.
