BUXAR, June 19 -- Three youths drowned in Thora River in Sarsati village of Buxar district on Thursday, police said. According to locals, four friends-- Kalyan Sharma, Shamar Kumar Sharma (13), Krishna Kumar Ram (15) and Dharamveer Kumar (14)-- went to the river to bath without informing their families. While bathing, they planned to film a video. While Kalyan stayed back at the bank and recorded, his three friends went into the river. The trio soon waded into deep waters and started drowning. Not knowing how to swim, Kalyan couldn't save them. He rushed to the village and informed his family. Soon, a large number of villagers and family members rushed to the river bank along with police teams and local divers began a search and rescue operation. After about an hour, the three teenagers were pulled from the river. They were rushed to Buxar Sadar Hospital where doctors declared them dead after examination. According to police, Shamar was a sixth-grade student and his father is a bike mechanic. Krishna was a ninth-grade student and his father was formerly a driver for the Itarhi CO. Dharamveer's father works as a labourer to support the family. Itarhi Police Station Officer Sonu Kumar said that all three bodies have been recovered. After doctors confirmed the deaths, the post-mortem examination process has begun. Further action will be taken after the post-mortem examination. Local public representatives have demanded that the administration provide compensation to the affected families....
