Three cops suspended for 'torture' of tribal girl
Jamshedpur, June 18 -- Three police personnel, including the officer-in-charge (OC) of Kapali police outpost (OP), were suspended over allegations of torturing a tribal girl from Kanderbera rehabilitation colony under Chandil police station in the Kapali OP on June 15, officials said on Wednesday.
"Kapali OP OC sub-inspector Dheeranjan Kumar, assistant sub-inspector Mohd Muqlesur Rahman and female constable Kanchan have been suspended with immediate effect on charges of using force and violence on a tribal girl inside the OP on June 15. Chandil SDPO was entrusted to inquire into the matter which found role of these three police personnel in the matter," Nidhi Dwivedi, Seraikela-Kharsawan district SP, state in an official communique late Tuesday night....
