PATNA, May 18 -- An FIR has been registered against unidentified individuals at Shahpur police station for allegedly stealing cash and valuables worth around Rs.6 lakh from the house of sub-inspector (SI) Uday Kumar Yadav, who is posted at Laharisarai in Darbhanga district, police said on Sunday. The incident came to light when the family returned home from Pune on Sunday. "The SI's family claimed that they had locked the house before departing for Pune on May 6 to visit their eldest son for treatment. The family found the ransacked house on return," an officer said. Police said that the thieves took away the DVR from the CCTV camera installed inside the house, the gas cylinder and the puja utensils. However, some items were recovered from a nearby dam, police said. Police are questioning residents and examining footage from CCTV cameras installed in the area.
